About Annecy Le Vieux

Not to be confused with the Vielle Ville (Old Town), Anncy Le Vieux is a predominately modern lakeside suburb, only a pleasant 20 minute stroll along the lake from Annecy. There is a large lawned beach area with a shallow bathing and new marina for renting sailing, rowing and motor boats. There are plenty of shops and restaurants and for budding Tim Henmans a first class tennis club. The Imperial Palace Hotel has a beach with a great water slide and diving boards which is open to the public
