Annecy by Train

Travelling to Annecy by train is a wonderful way to enjoy the journey.  The journey to Annecy by train departs from London St Pancras by Eurostar to Paris Gare du Nord.  From Paris Gare du Lyon there are daily trains direct to Annecy and the journey takes 3 hours 40 minutes.  During the main summer season there are also direct Eurostar trains from London to Lyon and then onwards to Annecy by train all the way. Annecy Lakeside Holidays is an agent of Voyages SNCF and can include the train tickets as part of your Annecy holiday. Ticket prices vary according to demand so the earlier you book your journey to Annecy by train the better.

The train journey can be undertaken in standard or 1st class. On the Eurostar there are three classes standard, Premier and 1st Premier. The Premier and 1st Premier includes meals and drinks all the way. When you arrive in Annecy the Gare Routier or central station is right in the heart of the town and from there you can take a taxi to your holiday villa or hotel on the shore of Lake Annecy. The train journey through France is wonderful with beuatiful vistas of the French countryside and historic towns and villages.

Getting to Lake Annecy by train is possible in a day. Take the Eurostar from London St Pancras during the summer season there are direct trains to Annecy via Lyon and Paris.

Eurostar trains go to Annecy from Paris Gare de Lyon.  If coming from London, allow an hour to transfer from Paris Gare du Nord where the London trains terminate.

An 0831 departure on a Saturday morning from London St. Pancras will mean arriving in Annecy at 1629.  Return trains from Annecy to Paris run on Saturday mornings.
